VERTRAUEN (in Communities of Practice)
Was ist Vertrauen, und warum ist es so wichtig für entstehende Communities of Practice? Wann und wie kann man dieses Vertrauen schaffen und beibehalten?
Wenn man ein Wörterbuch oder eine Enzyklopädie öffnet, kann man z.B. die folgende Definition finden:
- VERTRAUEN ist die Erwartung, nicht durch das Handeln anderer benachteiligt zu werden; als solches stellt es die unverzichtbare Grundlage jeder Kooperation dar.

Warum sollte man sich bemühen, dieses Vertrauen in enstehenden Communities of Practice zu bekommen?
Die Antwort erscheint selbstverständlich: Vertrauen zu sich selber und in andere Menschen, ist die Voraussetzung, um zu teilen (Kenntnisse), und Risiken einzugehen.
Wann soll man sich bemühen, Vertrauen zu schaffen?
So schnell wie es geht - von Anfang an.

Wie kann man die verschiedenen Kulturen bei der Erstellung einer Community of Practice berücksichtigen?
Es sind verschiedene kulturelle Ebenen, die sich überlagern oder sich überschneiden: regionale, nationale, linguistische, berufliche und firmeninterne Kulturen.
Duzen bei der Aufnahme von Geschäftsbeziehungen wird akzeptiert oder ist sogar die Norm in einigen Kulturen, jedoch undenkbar in anderen Kulturen.
Es ist wichtig, die persönliche Beziehung der Teilnehmer zu Zeit und Raum zu berücksichtigen, denn jede Gemeinschaft lebt in ihrem eigenen Wertesystem. Der Hauptteil davon bleibt unbewusst oder stillschweigend. In Zürich, in der Schweiz, beginnt eine Versammlung, auf die Minute pünktlich. In Japan ist es eine Beleidigung, 5 Minuten verspätet zu sein und sich nicht dafür zu entschuldigen. In Frankreich ist eine Viertelstunde Verspätung eine Gewohnheit, die in mehreren Regionen akzeptiert wird.
Wie kann man Vertrauen schaffen? Was kann man am Anfang tun?
1. Mit wem redet man? Es wird selbstverständlich scheinen, aber je nach der “hierarchischen Entfernung “ (“Machtdistanz” - nach Hofstede) und der “Stellung in der Organisation” unserer Ansprechpartner, wird man nicht auf die gleiche Art und Weise in die Beziehung eintreten. Wenn man Deutschland und Frankreich vergleicht, sieht man dass in Frankreich eine grosse Machtdistanz herrscht, während in Deutschland eine geringe Machtdistanz besteht.
2. Mit jedem Mitglied persönlich und auf individueller Basis in Verbindung zu treten, aber ohne dabei das was man sieht und hört zu beurteilen.
3. Sich auf Vertraulichkeit verpflichten.
4. Gut zuhören, was das zukünftige Mitglied über sich selber und seine Erwartungen an uns sagt.
5. Vorschriften und Regeln für die Gemeinschaft in Zusammenarbeit entwickeln.
